I received a lot of great feedback about my first internship experiences post so I took some notes from the past few weeks of games and decided to have at it again…
*Hot Rod Hundley’s retirement night was a lot of work.  But a great experience.  The halftime ceremony was put together and run by a [...]

The Jazz Bear has been a fixture at Jazz games for nearly two decades, and has provided excitement and laughs to thousands of fans over that time.  Though he’s been on hand for hundreds of games, the Bear is still a mystery to many fans.
“I always thought there were several different Bears, who were each [...]

Rookies vs. Sophomores

I love All-Star games.  Even though defense is nowhere to be found, it’s fun to see players play together and have fun.
The future stars of the NBA were on display Friday night when the Rookies and Sophomores took center stage.  After an exciting game, one thing is for sure: the league is good hands.
The game [...]

Beyond ‘Ball Boy’

There’s one job that every basketball fan has undoubtedly dreamt about having at some point in their lives…being a “Ball Boy.”
Though everyone thinks of it as a proverbial “dream job,” most people don’t know what the job really is.
Isaiah Wright has been working with the Jazz for the past four seasons and was quick to [...]

Hello. Goodbye.

Kevin O’Connor announced Tuesday that the Jazz  traded rookie Eric Maynor and veteran Matt Harpring to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for European Peter Fehse.
I don’t know much/anything about Fehse, but who does.  With a tad of research it looks as if, at best, he could be  poor-man’s Dirk Nowitzki.  He’s 6′11″ and 205 [...]

The Intern: I Get Paid For This?

To those that don’t know.  I am a intern for the Utah Jazz, working in the Game Operations dept.  I love to share my experiences working behind the scenes and hope it will give you some enjoyment.
*First and foremost I want the world to know that I love my job and can’t believe that I [...]

Mr. Brightside

I will admit, watching the Jazz go down in flames versus the Lakers was very difficult to watch.   I didn’t yell too much, only shed a single tear and didn’t even break anything as the Jazz put up 6 measly points in the 4th quarter against the Lakers on Wednesday night.
This game reminded me of [...]

The Intern: Operation All-Star

I love NBA All-Star Weekend!  It’s really no exaggeration when I say it’s my 2nd favorite sporting event of the year.  The Dunk Contest, 3 Point Shootout, even the Skills Challenge is a good time. The game itself is unbelievable!  Seeing the best athletes in the world on the court at the same time, playing [...]

Clutch City

Houston was nicknamed “Clutch City” after the Rockets won back-to-back championships in the mid 90’s.  But, it seems only right for them to relinquish that title to the Jazz.
A new study came out this week that listed the most clutch players (a player that is known for making baskets at the end of a game) [...]

A Tough Loss in Dallas

There I was sitting, giggling and telling everyone that we were finally going to win on the road on a back-to-back!
Just then, part way through the 4th quarter with the Jazz up 13 Dirk Nowitzki’s statline appears on the screen.  “Wow, Dirk only has 11 points.  He’s not the guy you want to get hot,” [...]
