Andrei Kirilenko has been cleared to play and will start for the Jazz Wednesday night against the Wolves. Ronnie Brewer will miss his second straight game. Ronnie Price will start for the Jazz in his place.
Trade Value
‘Fitting In Nicely’ (Melissa Majchrzak - NBAE/Getty Images)
It didn’t surprise me that the Jazz didn’t make a move at the trade deadline. They had already made a very successful deal to bring in Kyle Korver, and realistically they don’t have a lot of tradable assets.
If you consider that the Jazz are (arguably) the hottest […]

Take A Memo
The short handed Jazz took the even shorter handed Suns to an easy victory Friday. This is not a true reflection of how these teams might do, if they meet in the playoffs. However, the Jazz needed this win.
Even more importantly, Memo, ‘ka-ching’, reverted to ‘Money’. He was back in All-Star form. Since the birth […]

He’s Baaaaack!
Take a Memo.
Okur played, in the Miami game, like his pre All-Star performances of last year. His shot was sooo smooth, that you were yelling MONEY before it rippled the net. 25 points and 4 out of 5 three pointers and he shot a hot 71%. He also played like his quixotic back was no […]

Rivalry Part 2??
‘Bring on the Lakers!’ (M. Majchrzak - NBAE/Getty Images)
Walking into the Energy Solutions Arena on Friday night I was a little surprised to see SOOO many Laker fans showing their colors! I knew that there were quite a few Laker fans but I didn’t expect 1/4th of the people at the game.
The game […]

10 Things I Learned in Game 1
1. Boler and Booner’s pre-game repartee leaves something to be desired. Admittedly, this is not a new discovery, but head shaving discussions? Just grow it back Ron.
2. Contrary to what Thurl thought, it does not look like we will miss Fischer. Williams and Boozer (newly designated team captains) have the leadership thing well in hand.
3. […]

Wanted: Jazz Fan Tekkies
I am in need of an analogy, and this is a rough recollection, so bare with me. Back To The Future Part III: Marty is in a bar in the ‘ole west, and let it slip that he is from the future. In obvious jest, his cowboy counterparts asked what people do […]

The Soviet Block Party
John Stockton could have driven drunk through Temple Square on his way to referee a dog fight, while pumped full of steroids, crack cocaine and horse tranquilizers, and shouting anti-Republican rhetoric and he never would have been booed in Salt Lake City. Every summer Karl Malone could never decide if he was disgruntled or merely […]

Who is the Better Defender?
Last year there was a constant media reference made, that Gordan Giricek didn’t play defense as well as Derek Fisher, thus Fish’s starting role and more minutes. I would argue this was not exactly the case, at least, from my point of view.
Fish was stronger, but way undersized for a 2. Most shooting guards shot […]
