Carlos Boozer: NBA All Star
‘Standing Tall’ (Melissa Majchrzak - NBAE/Getty Images)
The NBA announced that Carlos Boozer has been selected to represent the West in the 2008 NBA all-Star game in New Orleans.
Carlos was selected to the team a year ago but was unable to play due to injury. Congratulations to Carlos on his second All-Star selection.

We are slightly impressed
‘Ron and Karl - a Resemblance?’ (NBAE/Getty Images)
While watching the last match up between the Sacramento Kings and the Utah Jazz; I noticed just a slight resemblance between Ron Artest, and Karl Malone. I think it’s the cheekbones. When I thought of Karl Malone, I was reminded that I haven’t heard anyone speak in the […]

Leave Sloan Alone
‘The Coach’ (Doug Benc - NBAE/Getty Images)
I’m wincing as I write this, because I can only imagine the response. Here goes. Why does everyone dog pile on Jerry Sloan when the Jazz lose? I’ll answer my own question here: it’s human nature. Coach Sloan is in a no-win situation. […]

Land-ho!
After having watched the Laker game and then the Celtics game it may seem that I was a little premature in announcing the return of our fearless castaways in my last post. However; I don’t believe this to be the case.
I’ll make yet another comparison to a t.v. show to explain my feelings. Remember the episode where Gilligan […]

Guaranteed Success
Attention Please! Note to all NBA teams who haven’t figured this out yet: PLAY ZONE DEFENSE AGAINST THE JAZZ! You’re practically assured a win. Even the 2-3 will do. Not that this isn’t a great zone defense, it’s just that we learned it in elementary school, and while it might […]
A Road Map to Success
This isn’t really a post about the latest Jazz losses; although those losses are related to the topic of the post. After the Jazz loss to Portland, someone on a sports talk show said something to the effect of; the coaching staff can only teach, preach, (and perhaps beg), so much. After that, […]

Nicknames Revisited
Just a quick post today– there were some good responses to my last post, and I thought that I’d give those of you who might be too busy, or well let’s face it– too lazy, to click on the comments button–the chance to see some nicknames for other Jazz players. One comment suggested that […]
The Best Thing is Being Here!
Sixth grade students have definite ideas about what is and is not great. Just to give you an idea, having no homework over the weekend, early-out school days, earning good grades and PE are on the “great” list. They also have a pretty good handle on some of the things that […]
My Take: Jazz vs. Knicks
‘Boozer - Unstoppable’ (Nick Laham - NBAE/Getty Images)
FINAL SCORE — KNICKS 113 JAZZ 109
The Jazz had a shot at the end but this game was lost by their terrible defensive effort in the first half and the third quarter.
The Jazz cut it to 3 and had the ball and then collapsed. With 2:30 left Deron […]
And, we’re off . . .
‘Me Nervous?’ (Jeff Gross - NBAE/Getty Images)
I wonder if NBA players get that ‘excitement and butterflies in the stomach’ feeling the day of the season opener. I have heard actors comment that they still get nervous speaking in front of crowds and I wonder if the same is true with NBA stars.
Do they stay […]
