Olympic Jazz
‘Beijing Bound’ (Andrew Bernstein - NBAE/Getty Images)
As far as the selection process for the USA Mens Basketball team is concerned, all that is left the official announcement and maybe a fight or two over jersey numbers. The press conference to formally announce the team is needlessly set for Monday morning. It’s kind of a formality […]

Coach Hornacek
‘John & Coach Jeff’ (Kent Horner - NBAE/Getty Images)
There are plenty of reasons you may have loved him as a player. Excellent shooter, smart player, good teammate, down to earth. Maybe you liked him because he looked like the average guy (the average guy who happens to be 6’4”) or maybe it was the secret […]

Game 4 Rewind
‘AK’s Way’ (M. Majchrzak - NBAE/Getty Images)
Back to LA we go. The team practiced today and are headed to Los Angeles shortly. We are staying in a different hotel this time since the last one didn’t have any wins in it. (This really isn’t the reason, but it’s fun to […]

Witnessing History
“History is the witness that testifies to the passing of time; it illumines reality, vitalizes memory, provides guidance in daily life, and brings us tidings of antiquity.” - Marcus Tullius Cicero
Many an analyst, pundit and fan alike, have been heard-
Whispering in the stands or seen shouting on the televisions of millions-
That these 2008 NBA Playoffs […]

“Let Them Play” vs Tony Brothers
‘Tony - Making the Calls’ (Stephen Dunn - NBAE/Getty Images)
Final stages of game 2. Bobby Jackson’s game tying 3-ball sails through the net, and the camera unexpectedly jerks back in Kirilenko’s direction for having drawn a crucial offensive foul on Luis Scola. Moments later, a quick flick of Korver’s wrist on the other […]

Very Very Bad Call?
I went to bed after Game 2 feeling content. Everything seemed ok. The game went about as I had imagined it would. The post game on TNT was very complimentary to the Jazz with Charles Barkley suggesting the Jazz can beat the Lakers. Magic Johnson even said that he always roots […]

New-found media darlingness
I don’t really have much of anything new to write today. I’m just enjoying basking in the praise being afforded the Jazz by the national media as of late. All of us Jazz fans have known for a long time of just how good this team is, despite the month of DECEMBER. It finally feels […]

Do You Belieeeeve?
Can I hear an Amen, brother?
The Jazz continues to roll.
Memo, like Moses of old, is leading the Jazz to the Promised Land. With DWill and Booze having less than stellar games, there was Money to be counted. Memo had his squeegee and Windex out, keeping the glass sparkling clean. Memo led all scorers and rebounders, […]
Who’d a’ Thunk It?
You had to love Memo’s comment, just before these last 6 games started, all against .600+ teams. I can’t find the exact quote, but it went something like this. “So, Memo how hard are these last 6 games going to be for the Jazz?” Memo said something like, “They are going to be hard […]
