Very Very Bad Call?

I went to bed after Game 2 feeling content. Everything seemed ok. The game went about as I had imagined it would. The post game on TNT was very complimentary to the Jazz with Charles Barkley suggesting the Jazz can beat the Lakers. Magic Johnson even said that he always roots [...]

New-found media darlingness

I don’t really have much of anything new to write today.  I’m just enjoying basking in the praise being afforded the Jazz by the national media as of late.  All of us Jazz fans have known for a long time of just how good this team is, despite the month of DECEMBER.  It finally feels [...]

Can I hear an Amen, brother?
The Jazz continues to roll.
Memo, like Moses of old, is leading the Jazz to the Promised Land. With DWill and Booze having less than stellar games, there was Money to be counted. Memo had his squeegee and Windex out, keeping the glass sparkling clean. Memo led all scorers and rebounders, [...]

Who’d a’ Thunk It?

You had to love Memo’s comment, just before these last 6 games started, all against .600+ teams. I can’t find the exact quote, but it went something like this. “So, Memo how hard are these last 6 games going to be for the Jazz?” Memo said something like, “They are going to be hard [...]

Andrei Kirilenko has been cleared to play and will start for the Jazz Wednesday night against the Wolves.  Ronnie Brewer will miss his second straight game.  Ronnie Price will start for the Jazz in his place.

Andrei Kirilenko will miss another game Friday when the Jazz visit the Phoenix Suns.  Kirilenko is still bothered by a strained hip suffered in the first quarter of the Jazz vs Mavericks game on Monday night.  Kirilenko is listed as day to day but will not be traveling with the team to Phoenix.  At this [...]

Here’s a Tip

One of the most annoying (when it goes wrong) and most satisfying (when it goes right) actions in basketball is the tip out of the rebound. I’m talking about when a player is trying to go for the rebound, but just can’t quite get their hands all the way on the ball, so they [...]

Kirilenko Will Not Dress Tonight

Andrei Kirilenko will miss tonight’s game against Minnesota due to the injury he suffered Monday night against Dallas.  The sprained hip has Kirilenko listed as doubtful for the game Friday against the Suns.  C.J. Miles is expected to start in his place and receive the bulk of his minutes.
In a related note – Dirk Nowitzki [...]

Enjoy the Ride!

‘Buckle Up’

The Jazz season is like riding a roller coaster, incredible highs and then mediocrity. You name the variation, the Jazz have ‘been there and done that’ this year. Great start, horrible December, great January and mediocre after the All-Star break. Losing to cellar dwellers, beating the best. Winning at home, losing on the [...]

International Conflict -
When Dirk Nowitzki grabbed Kirilenko by the shoulder and pulled him to the ground halfway through the first quarter Monday night, two of the more famous foreign players in the NBA had started something. It wasn’t a war. Although it kind of felt like it. For [...]
