True Blue Haiku

The Olympics are over, and its September.  The general dearth of basketball in my life inspired the following.  I encourage everyone to come up with their own Jazz Haiku and share it with us (especially if its funny or clever) in the comment section.
September, silent.
Spalding sits idle, waiting;
The hardwood beckons.
Autumn’s promise,
The Jazz season approaches
My heart’s song begins.

‘1996: Karl and the Sonics’ (Andy Hayt - NBAE/Getty Images)
Recent news that Oklahoma City’s new NBA team will assume the name Thunder made real to me a truth that I’ve been denying for some time now. While the people of that sprawling Midwestern town will undoubtedly cherish their first major, league-level professional franchise, the [...]

As I’ve been looking over the schedule there were several important cross-roads of the season that jumped out at me and within those I spotted 10-Utah Jazz games you should not miss…

Oct Wed 29  vs Denver  7:00pm  FSN - Season opener, need I say more. Look for a lot of points to be scored on [...]

‘Moments after the last interview, Jared (on the right) and I begin the selection process’
This Summer more than 900 Utah Jazz fans from Hawaii to Europe participated in our search for bloggers via an essay contest. We knew from the earliest submissions we would be selecting from a very talented and knowledgeable group of fans. [...]

‘Dream Team’
Shortly after Team USA left Beijing having recovered the Gold Medal in Men’s Basketball – the comparisons started and a question debated. Which team is better, “Dream Team” or “Redeem Team” – who would win if they could have somehow time warped and played each other. While the debate played out through the media [...]

‘Clay Bennett, chairman of the new Oklahoma City Thunder’
So OKC will be the Thunder this upcoming NBA season. Although I like the name “Thunder” doesn’t it sound like a WFL team, or a WNBA team? Furthermore, the logo looks a tad too feminine to me.
I understand we live in a time when “pink is the [...]

‘Gustav Aftermath with Hanna Approaching’ (AP)
I left New Orleans on Friday with an eerie feeling. Bound for Ann Arbor where the Michigan Wolverines awaited my beloved Utes in the Big House, I watched the Crescent City’s skyline fade in my rearview mirror as I sped toward the airport. While the plane lifted off, [...]

‘Welcome Aboard’ (Dustin Chapman)
Jazz take…Kosta Koufos – Is it all that you were hoping for? After all the waiting, the Jazz drafted what appears to be a younger version of Memo Okur. Maybe that will work out in the Jazz favor – he should fit well within the system – but can he take minutes [...]
